Megan Conrad, LMHC-t

About Megan
Megan was born and raised in Iowa. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing and listening to music. Megan also enjoys reading, movies and art. She draws from a variety of theoretical orientations for each client’s unique situations and believes that the client is the expert in their own lives so she works with the client to create a collaborative relationship. She also believes the client’s social connections are unique and important. Megan has special interest in working with children and teens.  


Training
After graduating with her BA in Psychology, Megan worked as a Human Services representative for a local company. There she worked with many employees to help resolve and validate any concerns they had. During her Master’s program, Megan worked with college students at a private institution. There she worked on skill building, relationship management and emotional expression. Megan also has experience leading groups. Megan recently graduated with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is working towards becoming a registered play therapist. Megan is also seeking training on animal assisted play therapy and EMDR.

MA - Clinical Mental Health Counseling, University of Northern Iowa
BA – Psychology, University of Northern Iowa

License and Certification
LMHC-t - Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Member of the American Counseling Association, and the Iowa Mental Health Counselor Association. 
NCC – National Certified Counselor

Availability
Monday through Thursday, by appointment in Cedar Rapids and Fridays in Washington.
