Emilie Halberstadt
About Emilie
Emilie is a positive thinker with a good sense of humor. She enjoys spending time outdoors and photographing nature. Prior to becoming a therapist, Emilie worked for the Iowa Department of Corrections for 8 years, and has extensive experience working with diverse populations. Emilie bases her treatment on building a strong counseling relationship with clients, and most often utilizes the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. Emilie believes that every person has the ability to solve their own issues, but sometimes guidance is needed to determine solutions. Emilie works with children, teens, adults, and families experiencing a variety of issues including; anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, behavioral concerns, trauma, and many other mental health diagnoses.
Training
Emilie completed her internship working with substance abuse clients, and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
Education
Emilie received her Bachelor’s of Science with an emphasis in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Kaplan University, and her Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree from Capella University.
License and Certification
Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor (TLMHC)
Availability
Emilie is available to see clients at the Marshalltown office during the following hours:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Emilie provides services in Newton at Newton Senior High and Berg Middle School, and is available to see students during the following hours:
Thursday and Friday, 8:15 am – 3:00 pm
