     The Grace C Mae Advocate Center, Inc. welcomes Carie Masters, Counselor, to its treatment team of therapists and counselors.  Carie will receive her degree from the University of Iowa School of Social Work with a Masters in Social Work.  Carie brings over ten years of human service practice in the community and home setting.  Carie’s primary focus is to deliver exceptional in home family services to individuals and their families living in the Chariton area.

The Advocate Center has been working to develop its infrastructure for the past year in order to deliver exceptional therapeutic and advocacy services to children, individuals, and families.  The Advocate Center serves Cedar Rapids, Marengo, Van Horne, Washington, Chariton, and surrounding areas.    

     The Grace C Mae Advocate Center provides traditional therapies and non-traditional therapies, including play therapy techniques such as non-directive play therapy, sand tray, filial (family), and Theraplay® (attachment based).  In addition to this the Advocate Center provides remedial (coping skill development) services, advocacy, custody evaluations, forensic social work, educational support services, and wraparound services for individuals and families. Organizations can receive help with program evaluations, strategic planning, training, crisis debriefing, policy analysis and cost-benefit analysis, and grant writing.  Communities can turn to the Advocate Center to get help with community assessments, crisis intervention debriefing and planning, and training on matters that affect children and families.

     The Grace C Mae Advocate Center is accepting new clients and patients.  They are able to bill private insurances (such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare, Principal, and Midland’s Choice), Medicaid (Title 19), CMH Waiver, and they have contracts with DHS in multiple rural counties to help children who have emotional disturbances.  Sliding fee scales are available for un-insured or under-insured people.  For more information or to schedule an appointment with Stefanie or any of our other highly qualified therapists, please contact our office at 319-361-6529.
