About Alisha
Alisha enjoy spending time with her family, and especially loves boating with friends
and family in the summer.
Training
Alisha began her career in the social service field in
2001, where she worked as a youth counselor for a summer program that helped
children with serious emotional disturbances.
She then began work as a counselor in a residential treatment
setting. Alisha has worked extensively
with children that have a variety of mental health diagnoses, such as
Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Reactive Attachment Disorder, are
just a few among many others. Other settings
Alisha has gained experience include day treatment counselor and an in-home
counselor for both children and adults.
While attending graduate school Alisha gained further knowledge in the
mental health field, through field study opportunities which included hospital
social work and school social work.
Alisha is trained in non-directive play therapy, and plans to attend
further trainings in the area of play therapy.
Alisha enjoys working with both adults and children. Her outstanding
social skills and communication abilities, allow her to build a positive
therapeutic rapport with those she works with.

Availability
Alisha is accepting new clients and has
availability in Marengo on Mondays 8:00 to 2:00pm, and Wednesdays in Cedar
Rapids, 9:30 to 2:30pm.
